Etching from a series of five allegorical compositions. A good impression, just trimmed to the platemark, traces of old glue on the verso.
*The Biard family were important carpenters and sculptors working for the Royal Court at the Louvre and Palais de Fontainebleau in the 16th century and, following in his father’s footsteps, Biard the younger was appointed Sculpteur du Roi. Robert-Dumesnil lists 24 etchings by him of which ten, including this allegory, are after his own designs, the rest are based on Italian Masters.
